Srinagar, October 3 (Udaipur Kiran News): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory for Jammu & Kashmir and adjoining plains, predicting rain in low-lying areas and snowfall in higher reaches between October 4 and 7. Heavy snowfall is likely in Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Zojila Pass, Peer Ki Gali, Rajdhan Pass, Sinthan Pass, and Kupwara-Sadhna Pass. Moderate snowfall is also expected in mid-altitude areas. The Kashmir plains may witness light to moderate rainfall, with some places likely to experience heavy to very heavy showers. In the Jammu region, the IMD has warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds blowing at speeds of 40–50 km/h, occasionally reaching 60–70 km/h.
