Acclaimed ensemble blending Scottish folk and classical music set for Nairn gig

The Maxwell String Quartet will perform in Nairn on October 10.
An internationally acclaimed ensemble is set to perform in Nairn next week for the second event in this year’s Music Nairn programme.
The Maxwell String Quartet — comprised of violinists Colin Scobie and George Smith, viola player Elliott Perks, and cellist Duncan Strachan, is now firmly regarded as one of Britain's finest young string quartets.
The quartet has made its mark also thanks to its strong connection to Scottish folk music heritage — a blend which they will bring with their programme for Music Nairn, balancing classical repertoire with their native folk tradition.
The Maxwell String Quartet will perform at Nairn Community & Arts Centre on Friday, October 10 at 7.30pm — for more information visit musicnairn.org.uk.
