Taylor Fire & Rescue donation
['Staff Report']
Scranton Times-Tribune
Waste Management’s Alliance Landfill recently delivered a $10,000 donation to officers of the Taylor Fire & Rescue.
The gift will provide important support to a fundraising campaign the volunteer squad is conducting to purchase new equipment, including a device used to remove disabled first responders from an emergency scene; bailout bags, which are used when a firefighter needs to quickly escape from a dangerous situation; and thermal imaging cameras.
Participating in the donation presentation, from left, are: Taylor Fire & Rescue Capt.
Wes Jones Jr.; Secretary Mark Kania; President Chris Kuratnick; Alliance District Manager Glenn Kempa; and Taylor Fire & Rescue board of directors member John Harrison Jr.
The fire company is the primary first responder for the landfill and Taylor borough, one of Alliance’s host communities.
