Just 37 mining companies floated in London over the period.
Some of the world’s biggest miners are still listed in London, and there are still new arrivals joining either the main London Stock Exchange (LSE) board or the riskier, start-up-focused Aim market.
It has been a particularly tough few years for the Aim market, known as the junior market because of its less rigid rules.
“The Aim market has been shrinking, partly because you’ve got tiny companies across lots of sectors that just can’t get investor support.
“You’ve got takeovers at slightly the bigger end of the Aim companies.
