Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services has advised residents in Mzuzu to utilise the 2025/26 seasonal forecast for proper planning in their various spheres of lives. The department’s director Lucy Mtilatila said this on Wednesday in Mzuzu when she disseminated the 2025/26 Downscaled Seasonal Forecast for Mzuzu City and some parts of Mzimba District. I George BulombolaShe said: “The department produces an estimation of what the rainy season will be like before the onset of the rainy season and we released the 2025/26 Seasonal Forecast for the country on September 13 2025. Mzuzu City Council disaster risk management officer Macdonald Gondwe commended the department for taking the weather forecast to grassroots level through various committees. “Let me advise members of ward disaster risk management committees and Mzuzu City Council Disaster Risk Management Committee to be proactive in spreading this information to all communities to get prepared for meaningful intervention,” he said.
