A man who tried to suffocate a sleeping baby in a "sickening attack" has been jailed. Shane Heighway was seen forcefully taking the eight-month-old baby from their cot before assaulting them and covering their face with his hands in August 2024. The assault was caught on a baby monitor, which alerted the child's mother who then immediately called the police.
