During the countless times I sat down to write, I told myself that maybe I could just ignore this whole looming “school closure situation” and write about something a little less impactful, a little lighter.
But then on Monday night, I listened to the District 65 board meeting from start to almost finish.
Many parents and children brought signs to a June 2024 school board meeting to protest the closure of Bessie Rhodes.
And what can we as a school district do to address these losses?
And when we close these schools, what will happen to the impacted educators?
