Gait keepers: Rowan County athletes shine at Special Olympics North Carolina equestrian tournament

Four local athletes competed in the Special Olympics North Carolina State Equestrian Tournament held Sept. 19–21 at the Tryon International Equestrian Center and brought home five gold medals and three silver medals across multiple equestrian disciplines.
These athletes trained and competed under the guidance of Saving Grace Farm, a nonprofit equine-assisted services provider based in Salisbury.
Pumpkin has attended the equestrian tournament every year it has taken place since 2019.
