Euractiv Editor in Chief Matthew Karnitschnig recently sat down with Antonio López-Istúriz White, a former close advisor to ex-Spanish premier José María Aznar and longtime secretary general of the European People’s Party. López-Istúriz, now a Spanish MEP focused on foreign policy, shared his views on a range of current issues from the tensions in the Middle East surrounding Iran and Gaza, to Europe’s relationship with the United States, and Spain’s scandal-plagued prime minister, Pedro Sánchez.
