A midshipman was shot and a law enforcement officer was injured Thursday during a lockdown at the U.S. The Naval Academy and Naval Support Activities Annapolis were put on lockdown at 5:07 p.m. Thursday as authorities responded to threats against the academy and reports of suspicious activity. “We want to clarify that there was no active shooter at the Naval Academy,” reads the Friday statement from an academy spokesperson. Several sources familiar with the events on Thursday told USNI News that the injured person was a Naval Academy midshipman who was hurt while law enforcement cleared Bancroft Hall.
