NAVAL STATION NORFOLK, Va. – A Norfolk sailor facing charges of killing a fellow sailor in May is also linked to assaults of four other women, prosecutors said in a Thursday pre-trial hearing. According to prosecutors, Copeland murdered Resendiz after she made a “frantic” call for a friend to pick her up around 2 a.m. on May 29. The sailor, prosecutors said, alerted Copeland she was seeking charges against him. But what is it going to take?”Following the hearing, Copeland was returned to the brig.
