Comment on Slice of Life: Luigi’s Grocery Closes After 45 Years on Morris Street by Shelly Budau
['Seth Daniel']
Comments for Everett Independent
It was the second Italian store in Everett, and one of the few left when it closed in May.
Councilor Michael McLaughlin presents a Council citation to Angelina and her son, Franco, for appreciation in operation the Italian store over 45 years on Morris Street.
He said, “Forget it, I’m opening up an Italian store then.’ We were the second Italian store in Everett.
“That was kind of the whole purpose of an Italian store, but they always came and wanted us to take it down and so we did,” he said.
“Salute!” said Franco in Italian as friends, neighbors and family enjoyed one last toast to the old Luigi’s Grocery on Monday evening.
