Heather Bates was in the bathroom of her Fairview home when she had the urge to check on her 5-year-old daughter. Bates looked down the hall, saw the front door was open and ran outside on the morning of Sept. 23, she said. She hurried barefoot down the driveway but had a hunch to check the nearby Fairview Lake for her daughter, Aradia Harper Sadler. Aradia reminded her to enjoy the little moments in life, and Bates hopes others can take that lesson from her. “Enjoy the silly little moments when you still get to experience them,” she said.
