Police identified the person killed in a North Portland shooting this week as 16-year-old Alexander Montie-Lopez. Police have released few details about the shooting, which happened around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 6800 block of North Central Street. Police have made no arrests, although officers detained an unidentified person immediately after the shooting. Tuesday’s shooting marked the 34th homicide in Portland this year, compared with 58 at this point last year. As the number has fallen this year, Portland typically has recorded two to three homicides per month.
