Historic Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib Flooded After Release of Water in Ravi RiverKartarpur Sahib/Dera Baba Nank: The historic Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, one of the most revered Sikh shrines, has been severely affected by floods after large volumes of water were released into the Ravi river from East Punjab. The shrine marks the site where Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru, spent the last years of his worldly life. Visuals accessed by Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) show the entire Kartarpur Sahib complex submerged, with floodwaters entering the sanctum of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib. Inside the Darbar Sahib, nearly four steps of the staircase have been submerged, with two to three feet of water standing across the premises. The sacred Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the sevadars remain safe on the first floor of the Darbar Sahib.
