Marshals arrested a fugitive in Lewiston on Tuesday, accused of strangling a five-year-old child in Massachusetts and stealing the victim’s mother’s car before fleeing to Maine. Dominique Bailey allegedly strangled a five-year-old household member in Peabody, Massachusetts, stole the child’s mother’s car, and fled. Several weeks ago, the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department discovered the stolen vehicle, suggesting that Bailey was staying in Maine. The Marshal Service district of Massachusetts informed the Maine Violent Offender Task Force, led by the Marshals, that they believed Bailey was staying with known associates in Maine. At the time of the alleged strangulation, Bailey was out on probation in Maine following a robbery conviction and also faced Maine charges for probation violation.
