From Staff ReportsIn a show of commitment to public health, safety and community well-being, the Bossier Parish Police Jury took action during its Oct. 1 regular agenda meeting to address property standards and improve neighborhood conditions across the parish. During the property standards and condemnation hearings, the jury reviewed more than 10 properties flagged for serious health and safety violations, many of which were abandoned, in foreclosure or lacked responsive ownership. “These decisions to condemn these properties reflect our ongoing commitment to keeping Bossier Parish safe, clean and livable for all residents,” said Glenn Benton, jury president. One property was successfully cleaned by parish crews with the help of a concerned neighbor, showcasing the power of community collaboration. Benton said these actions are part of a broader initiative to uphold property standards, protect public health and encourage responsible ownership throughout Bossier Parish.
