Quebec family doctors will continue to teach students

The FMOQ – which represents family doctors in the province – had already announced an initial postponement of this pressure tactic on Monday.
Initially, family physicians were to stop teaching students as of Oct. 1.
For the time being, medical students will therefore be able to benefit from preclinical and clerkship teaching activities.
With this in mind, the suspension of teaching for medical students is postponed until further notice,” the FMOQ explained in a written statement Thursday.
Specialists were the first to stop teaching students, one of their only significant leverage tools, since essential services to the population must continue.
