The Laurus hotel, part of The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts stable, officially opened on Wednesday at Resorts World Sentosa, a casino resort complex in Singapore. That is according to a press release issued by global hospitality group Marriott International Inc.Named after laurel leaves, the new hotel at Resorts World Sentosa, a property run by Genting Singapore Ltd, offers 183 suites. The Luxury Collection brand, part of hospitality group Marriott International Inc, is described as an ensemble of more than 120 hotels in over 40 countries and territories, and has roots dating back to 1906. Lee Shi Ruh, chief executive of Resorts World at Sentosa Pte Ltd, the operating entity of Resorts World Sentosa, said the new hotel reflects the casino firm’s “ambition to set new benchmarks in luxury hospitality while offering travellers a sanctuary that feels like home”. A revamped retail area at Resorts World Sentosa, dubbed “WEAVE”, began opening in early July, while the Singapore Oceanarium opened to the public in late July.
