Boulder County’s Open Studios Tour returns for its 30th year, for three weekends in a row, transforming ordinary houses and studios into open-door treasure hunts for local art. The self-guided tour will include 128 artists across Boulder, Longmont, Lafayette, Louisville, Erie and Eldorado Springs, all to welcome visitors into their creative spaces from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, then on Oct. 11-12 and Oct. 18-19. Some stops include live demos or hands-on art activities for kids. You can also start at one of two preview exhibits — downtown at Park Coworking, 2040 14th St., Boulder, or at Open Studios Gallery Boulder Junction, 3075 Pearl Parkway, Boulder, to get a sense of which artists you want to see before heading out with a map and a coffee.
