BOARDMAN — Students from Boardman’s SAGE Center competed in a global coding competition as part of Amazon’s Think Big Spaces program. The students participated in the Tangible Global Coding World Cup on Tuesday, Sept. 30, alongside teams from more than 20 countries and 22 Amazon data center regions, according to a press release from the company about the event. The event, which was streamed live, also served as the platform through which Amazon launched its Think Big Circle initiative to connect students globally through coding challenges. Using the Tangible coding game, more than 1,900 learners solved never-before-seen coding challenges using an unplugged approach to teach problem-solving and coding skills using physical grids, tokens, and mobile devices. In the coming months, Think Big Circle will become the central hub for continued collaboration, supporting the co-creation of programs, peer-to-peer learning, and innovative global events that inspire creativity and build community impact.
