DROITWICH Spa suffered a heavy 6-0 home defeat against Slimbridge who replaced the Saltmen at the top of the table in the process. Slimbridge broke the deadlock on 17 minutes when Jack Smith finished past Dominic Hill from Charlie Matthews’ pass. Slimbridge struck again three minutes after half time as Jack Smith, a different Jack Smith to the player who scored the opening two goals, headed in Leighton Blacker’s cross. Droitwich won a penalty on 65 minutes only to see the spot kick saved by Slimbridge goalkeeper Stephen Sarkodie. Droitwich are next in action against Highworth Town on Saturday, August 23 with kick-off at 3pm at The Elms.
