Level three personal care workers in aged care are celebrating an extra $39.50 per week following the fourth stage of wage increases from the Fair Work Commission that came into effect on 1 October.

Health Services Union national secretary Lloyd Williams said the pay rise was a huge win for aged care workers.
But he said there was still work to be done, with aged care workers in administration, cleaning, laundry, food services, gardening and maintenance still left behind.
The next increase to the aged care award wages will be on 1 August 2026.
