King Mohammed VI chaired a religious vigil at the Mohammed V Mausoleum in Rabat on Thursday to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the passing of King Hassan II. Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, and Prince Moulay Ahmed joined the monarch at the ceremony. The holy vigil featured the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the chanting of panegyrics in praise of Prophet Mohammed. The king and the princes paid their respects at the tomb of the late King Hassan II before prayers were raised for the souls of both King Hassan II and King Mohammed V.Princess Lalla Meryem chaired a separate vigil at the As-Sunna Mosque in Rabat on the same day, in honor of the late King Hassan II. The head of government, the speakers of the two houses of parliament, royal advisors, members of the government, presidents of constitutional bodies, senior officers of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, representatives of Islamic diplomatic missions accredited in Rabat, and other civil and military figures attended the vigil at the Mausoleum.
