Aberdeen got their Conference League campaign under way against Shakhtar Donetsk at Pittodrie. Jesper Karlsson fired the Dons in front from the penalty spot but it was the Ukrainians who emerged victorious with a 3-2 win with around 800 Shakhtar fans at the game to cheer on the visitors. A defeat for Aberdeen but the Dons players were clapped off the park after a hard-fought encounter. Our photographer Darrell Benns was there to take pictures of the Red Army at Pittodrie.
