Source: New Zealand PoliceA tree is blocking State Highway 1 at Karapiro, which is expected to remain closed for some time. Police became aware of the blockage, just north of the township, around 11:35am. Traffic is backed up from Cambridge – the road is expected to be closed for several hours while the tree is cleared. There is currently a cordon in place at the State Highway 1 intersection with State Highway 27. Motorists are asked to delay travel if possible and follow posted diversions.
