Delays stacked up on eastbound Interstate 70 in Jefferson County on Thursday after a semitrailer went off the highway and crashed onto Sixth Avenue, according to law enforcement. As of 12:30 p.m., one lane of eastbound I-70 was closed between C-470 and U.S. 6/Sixth Avenue in Golden, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. Officials estimated the closure was causing up to 20-minute delays at that time. Eastbound U.S. 6 is closed between Johnson Road and U.S. 40, near West Pleasant View, for the crash, state transportation officials said. The semitrailer was hauling gravel when it went over the bridge onto U.S. 6, state patrol trooper Sherri Mendez told Denver7.
