A former Burbank Unified School District Board of Education member is scheduled to be arraigned later this month on a felony conflict-of-interest charge involving a $90,000 clerical contract awarded to a company police say was registered under her daughter’s name. The Burbank Police Department was contacted on June 4 by personnel from the Burbank Unified School District regarding “concerns about a contract awarded in September 2024 to Specialized Support Services LLC, for up to $90,000 to resolve a two-year backlog of board meeting minutes,” according to a Burbank police statement. Although the district paid $93,000 to Specialized Support Services from December 2024 to May 2025, “limited work had been completed,” according to police. Tabet is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 30 in downtown Los Angeles. Anyone with information about the case was urged to contact Burbank police Detective John Voorhis 818-238-3210.
