Reflecting on a lifetime in milling

TEUTOPOLIS, ILLINOIS, US — Rick Siemer, the 75-year-old longtime president of Siemer Milling Co., has been part of his family’s milling business for as long as he can remember.
Siemer asked the gentleman, whose company was founded around the same time as Siemer Milling, for his secret to success.
In 1906, Joseph Siemer and his son, Clemens, bought out the Uptmor interests and renamed the company Siemer Milling Co.
But rather than pursue a career as an attorney, Siemer returned to his native Teutopolis to work for Siemer Milling.
Since then, he has accomplished that mission, helping to guide Siemer Milling to heights that were unimaginable in the mid-20th century.
