A surge of travelers moved through Southwest Florida International Airport last month. The count hit 647,917 people in August 2025, breaking the facility's previous August record in its four-decade history. At the Fort Myers hub, Delta Airlines topped the charts by moving 152,803 flyers. Southwest carried 107,919 people through the skies, while American moved 97,808. Yet the yearly passenger total slipped a tiny fraction, down just 0.3%.
