A 34-year-old man was booked at County Jail after a tense standoff with Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies that prompted a neighborhood shelter-inplace order in Moorpark. The deputies immediately retreated to a safe position and called for backup, leading to a large-scale law enforcement response, including the sheriff’s SWAT team. Authorities quickly issued a shelter-inplace order to ensure the safety of nearby residents. He refused, and SWAT deputies put a less-lethal device through a bedroom window. Gonzales was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail on suspicion of resisting an executive officer and brandishing an imitation firearm at a peace officer.
