EDF and PS Renewables launch consultation on major Kent solar project
['Sumit Bose']
Energy Live News
EDF Power Solutions UK and PS Renewables have announced early-stage plans for South Brooks Solar Farm, a large-scale renewable energy project with battery storage proposed for Kent.
If approved, the solar farm would generate enough clean energy to power more than 140,000 homes, saving around 225,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year.
The project would connect into the National Grid at Dungeness Substation, delivering electricity equivalent to powering around 20% of all homes in Kent.
A six-week consultation on the initial proposals will run from 18 September to 30 October 2025.
Local feedback, alongside environmental surveys and technical assessments, will help shape the final design, which will be presented for further consultation next year.
