Energy Live News
Schneider Electric has started production at its new smart manufacturing facility in Scarborough following a £42 million investment, with full commissioning due by the end of 2025.
The 16,500 sq m plant will produce critical electrical equipment to support Britain’s transition to cleaner energy.
With demand expected to rise by 40% by 2035, the site will play a key role in building energy resilience and enabling a low carbon future.
It will also boost local EV charging by over 110% with 30 new chargers on site.
Designed as a global blueprint for low carbon manufacturing, the factory is net zero for Scope 1 and 2 emissions and will source 30% of its energy from onsite solar.
