Credit: Alex HarrisonA major piece of downtown Evanston’s retail core is changing hands once again, as Chicago-based Continuum Development announced Tuesday that it has bought the Church Street Plaza pavilion building on the east side of Maple Avenue between Church and Clark streets for $31.2 million. “With our acquisition of the property and proposed mixed-use tower at 900 Clark Street, we’re committed to maximizing this site’s potential in a way that aligns with the city’s inclusionary housing plan and sustainability initiatives,” Meador wrote. Luxury Living Chicago is attached to the proposal as a leasing partner for the development. “We would love to facilitate a cost-effective, sustainable and efficient permanent solution for any municipal-focused offices but have no insight into the city’s current plans,” Meador wrote in response. “Right now, we are focused on optimizing Church Street Plaza as it sits today.”
