Fall weather suitable for clearing underbrushNORTHEASTERN OREGON — The Wallowa-Whitman National Forest is planning prescribed fire operations this fall as forecasted weather conditions appear favorable, the U.S. Forest Service announced Tuesday, Sept. 23. The prescribed burns, pending all required approvals, are expected to continue through the end of fall as weather conditions allow. Forest Service offices in Joseph, Enterprise, Baker City and La Grande have been notified of the upcoming burns. Prescribed fires are planned for each district and locations are identified on the interactive map at https://tinyurl.com/mapburns. Residents may experience smoke during the prescribed burns.
