Deadline to enter is Jan. 15JOSEPH — A writing contest for young people ages 10-21 is being sponsored by the Oregon State Grange it was announced Wednesday, Sept. 24. The theme of the contest is “What is a Grange? The contest is offered to help increase public awareness of the Grange, particularly among young people and their families. Founded in 1867, the Grange organization has been family-friendly, nonpartisan, nonsectarian and inclusive with equal rights for all. The Oregon State Grange is comprised of around 160 local Granges that each provide services to meet the various needs of their community.
