Members of Evanston’s Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation marked the start of the Jewish New Year, or Rosh Hashana, with a ceremony practiced nowhere else in the world. Hundreds of members and friends marched around Dawes Park Monday night in what the congregation calls the Shofar Walk. Rosh Hashana, which celebrates the anniversary of the world’s creation, will conclude on Wednesday evening.
