The Evanston Art Center is excited to welcome the public to “The Forgotten Lives Project,” an exhibition by digital collage artist and photographer David Bender. The exhibition will be on display from Oct. 4 to Nov. 2 at the Lobby Gallery of the Evanston Art Center, 1717 Central St. Admission is free. Gallery hours:Monday to Thursday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Saturdayto Sunday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.“I’m a digital collage artist and photographer and a collector of early portrait photography — daguerreotypes, tintypes and cabinet cards from the 1800s,” Bender said. “I’m fascinated and sometimes saddened by these mysterious and haunting photographs of long-forgotten people, and I’m driven not only to preserve their memory, but to awaken it.
