Seldom in the spotlight, Rajeev Dahal receives a standing ovation at a September City Council meeting after his retirement was announced.
Dahal, senior transportation project manager, started work for Evanston in 1998.
He has helped upgrade 75 of the city’s 104 traffic signals and has overseen the construction of new bike lanes and the Safe Routes to School Program, said City Manager Luke Stowe.
Dahal’s last day will be Sept. 26.
