Nexstar and Sinclair, two huge forces in the local TV landscape, are boycotting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” tonight, meaning about a quarter of all ABC broadcast stations won’t be airing his return. Nexstar announced this morning on their website that all the company’s owned and partner stations affiliated with ABC will continue to stall the telecast. Sinclair Broadcast Group, which has historically conservative ties, has also demonstrated public interest in a sizable merger that would necessitate FCC sign-off.
