DBSA Invests in Zero Carbon Charge to Accelerate South Africa’s EV Transition

Parking Network
South Africa’s journey toward sustainable mobility has taken a major step forward with the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) investing R100 million in Zero Carbon Charge, also known as CHARGE.
The company is rolling out a nationwide network of ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging stations powered entirely by off-grid solar and battery storage.
By positioning infrastructure across major routes, the project aims to remove one of the key barriers to EV adoption: limited charging access and range anxiety.
This approach not only supports South Africa’s climate goals but also strengthens the resilience of its transport infrastructure by providing a dependable alternative to grid power.
The DBSA’s backing of Zero Carbon Charge signals growing confidence in South Africa’s ability to adopt and scale innovative energy and mobility solutions.
