ALVECHURCH suffered a 2-1 home defeat against bottom club Stratford Town following victory by the same scoreline away at Barwell. Tim Flowers suffered defeat against former club Stratford at Lye Meadow as the Bards picked up their first points of the season. That came after Alvechurch overcame a red card to Shay Willock to win away at Barwell at Kirkby Road. However, Alvechurch had Willock sent off in first-half injury time for an alleged stamp on Barwell’s Brad Gascoigne. Alvechurch play Barwell again in the FA Cup on Saturday, August 30 with kick-off at 3pm at Lye Meadow.
