sRESIDENTS are in with a chance of learning all about the restoration project of the spire at St John’s Church this weekend as Bromsgrove’s Grade 1 listed historical asset features in the Heritage Open Days programme.
Visitors can join the Friends of St John’s Church for a day of music, heritage craft skills and architectural digest on Saturday (September 20).
The event, part of Heritage Open Days, kicks off with a free Cake and Coffee Concert with Orchestra of St John at 10.30am featuring classic pieces from Mozart and Haydn.
Afterwards, visitors can explore the building and churchyard, learn about the Spire Project and try their hand at the heritage craft skills used in the restoration project.
Outside the church visitors can meet the stonemasons and heritage restoration team to learn about the materials and stone used in the project.
