I’d say, “The Greenville, South Carolina area. During the hurricane?”To which I’d respond with: “Well, it was bad, but my family was okay.”What else can I say? Unless you were in the direct path of Hurricane Helene or any other natural disaster, it’s hard to comprehend just how serious it was. I remember my column following the days of Hurricane Helene. Perhaps every year, I’ll write a column remembering the horrid week of Helene around the anniversary.
