Police have been carrying out additional patrols around synagogues and other Jewish venues in Scotland following a terror attack in Manchester. Two members of the Jewish community died and four others were seriously injured in the incident at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue at around 9.30am on Thursday. Police Scotland said there is “no intelligence” to suggest any specific threat to the Jewish community in Scotland but advised vigilance. A spokesperson said: “Police Scotland officers are already carrying out additional and dedicated patrols around synagogues and other Jewish venues as part of our existing policing plan for the Jewish High Holy Days. “While there is no intelligence to suggest any specific threat in Scotland, people should remain alert but not alarmed.
