Sala Abdalla came to the UK herself as a 10-year-old refugee, with her family fleeing political persecution in the Sudan. Sala wrote: “Britain welcomed us. “I was not just given refuge, I was given hope, encouragemen, and the belief that I could make a difference. The Britain that embraced diversity and celebrated the contributions of people from all walks of life. “Let us stand together for a welcoming Britain, a place where kindness triumphs over fear, and where every person, regardless of their journey, is treated with dignity and respect.”
