The 60-year-old will face the Victorian Court of Appeal on Friday morning where three justices are set to hand down their decision, following his three-day appeal hearing in September. Ms Gobbo was registered as a Victoria Police informer from 2005 to 2009 and was acting as Mokbel's lawyer for four years before he fled to Greece in 2006. Mr Game also said the evidence against Mokbel had been "corrupted" because Ms Gobbo encouraged two of her clients to make statements against him. In granting his bail application, Court of Appeal President Karin Emerton described Mokbel's appeal chances as "very strong". She stated Mokbel was deliberately misled and deceived as to the strength and nature of the prosecution case when he pleaded guilty to the drug offences.
