A new travel and expense policy for council has been given the green light. Councillor Sara Inch voted against it, saying she supports updating the policy but doesn’t feel the timing is right. “With investigations still underway adopting new rules could undermine public trust,” she says. We can’t fix what’s wrong until we know what went wrong.”Other councillors, including Mark King, say there’s nothing stopping them from amending the policy, if needed. “I think [the policy] restores public trust in what goes on inside this organization,” he says.
