The King recently selected Professor Adeeba Malik, CBE, DL, as the Lord-Lieutenant to succeed Mr Ed Anderson, CBE, upon his retirement on December 22, 2025. Professor Malik, who is currently the deputy chief executive at the QED Foundation, has dedicated more than 35 years to the public and voluntary sectors. She has also been a high sheriff of West Yorkshire. He said: “I am delighted that Adeeba Malik will succeed me. Professor Malik is also the first woman of Asian heritage to be appointed as Lord-Lieutenant in the UK.
