It’s pretty wild to think that nearly 40 years after release, Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels is still surprising fans and giving them reasons to throw their controllers at the wall, since brand-new stages have just been discovered. Giving some context, one of the most (in)famous game glitches is the Minus World one in the original Super Mario Bros. on NES, which surprisingly allowed players to access “secret levels” by having Mario move a certain way and ending up in the wrong area. Now, speedrunner and YouTuber Kosmic has found an equivalent to that glitch for The Lost Levels, known in Japan as Super Mario Bros. 2. Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels was originally launched in 1986 for the Family Computer Disk System in Japan, with significantly more challenging levels than the original game. It finally came out in Western countries in 1993 as part of the Super Mario All-Stars collection on the SNES.
